it suddenly occurs to me that I'm very fond of such scenarios where a person for whatever reason refrains from speech. it creates a vacuum, negative pressure, that sucks stuff out of the other person. a revealing moment, in which we spectators stare anxiously at the hole previously sealed by ulterior atmospheric pressure, scrutinizing what has been flowing out and anticipating, from which the suspense dissipated, purified from being breathed in, is filling space up as it creates more space.
